Welcome. My name is Janet. I am a critical care registered nurse who has always known what was best for my health, but have never had the drive to be truly successful in losing weight. I’m back to what I weighed in high school, and have more energy than ever!’
After 35 years in the restaurant industry, I’d gained over 70 lbs, with no end in sight. I wasn’t happy, and it showed in the way I dealt with people at work and at home.

One day I had just taken my dad to his doctor’s appointment and was helping him into his car from his wheelchair. Don Miller approached me to help and asked about my father’s health. Before Take Shape For Life, I was obese and very unhappy with the way I looked and felt. I had severe osteoarthritis in my knees, and I would go straight to the couch or bed as soon as I came home from work. I kept getting bigger and heavier, and my doctor recommended bariatric surgery, but because I suffer with strokes and TIAs (“mini-strokes”) I wasn”t a candidate.
